Black Spectacles for AREs
Employees have access to the Black Spectacles ARE prep curriculum that comprehensively addresses all seven divisions of the ARE 5.0. The online video courses were developed in concert with staff from AIA and practicing architects.
AmberBook for AREs
The firm has a license for Amber Book Online ARE Prep Course. Amber Book has helped more than 8,000 emerging professionals prepare for the ARE exam. Because architects are visual learners, the course offers 40+ hours of well-animated video content, plus hundreds of animated practice problems and digital flashcards.
NCIDQ Certification is the industry’s recognized indicator of proficiency in interior design principles. The NCIDQ is offered twice a year- for the month of October (Fall exams) and the month of April (Spring exams). Many test-takers start their studying journey about 3 months before sitting for the exam.
LEED Green Associate (Complete within 6 months of your hire date)
In order to demonstrate general proficiency in sustainable design concepts, all design professionals in the firm are required to become LEED Green Associates (LEED GA). Those design professionals who are not yet LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) are required to attain LEED GA within 6 months, effective from November 1, 2019, and new hires, within 6 months from their date of hire.
Living Design/LEED AP Specialization (Complete within 6 months of meeting the USGBC eligibility requirements)
In addition, all design professionals are expected to develop expertise and attain a Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that is of interest to you, to best understand and advance the widening world of sustainable design. Options include LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, CPHC/CPHE Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer or Living Future Accreditation/LFA. Other related professional credentials may be considered if approved by the Sustainability Leadership Council and Studio Operations Director. Professional Accreditation is a mandatory requirement for Leadership Program consideration.
